Noémie Blais is a PhD candidate within the Marine and Terrestrial Megafauna Cluster at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Her research focuses on understanding the relationship between sea turtle health and ecosystem condition within urban-impacted catchments. By integrating health assessments with habitat sampling, she aims to establish a clearer understanding of how environmental stressors—particularly those associated with habitat degradation—affect turtle physiology and overall well-being. A key component of this work involves determining the nutritional requirements of green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas), which will help contextualize health indicators in relation to habitat quality and food availability.
