Biography

Nicolette Bannink has an extensive clinical nursing experience in the tertiary sector. Nicolette has experience working in the community as a palliative care nurse and also as a practice nurse. She is a lecturer in nursing at UniSC.

Nicolette completed a Graduate Certificate in Nursing (General Practice). She has completed a Master of Advanced Nursing Practice.

She worked as a research assistant on the Care Coordination through Emergency Department, Residential Aged Care and primary Health Collaboration (CEDRiC) project which was awarded the 2017 Queensland Premiers Award. Her responsibility was to develop the Toolkits for CEDRiC and the Geriatric Emergency Department Intervention (GEDI) arm of the project.

Nicolette is currently completing her Master of Research What are the lived experiences of Registered Nurses providing end-of-life care to adults in community hospices in Queensland?

Nicolette is student focused, providing innovative ways to engage the students. She continues to have an interest in primary health care, palliative care, and compassionate communities.
