About

Dr Mohammadreza Peron is a researcher in forest science and environmental engineering, with research interests spanning soil erosion and sediment control, soil and slope stabilisation, soil–water conservation, ecological restoration, revegetation, and sustainable forest engineering.

His research has particularly focused on developing innovative and sustainable approaches to erosion control and land rehabilitation. He is the inventor of Nano-Hydromulch, a multifunctional technology developed to integrate erosion and runoff control, slope stabilisation, moisture retention, and vegetation establishment. His work combines nanotechnology, soil and water conservation, and ecological engineering to address environmental challenges associated with disturbed and erosion-prone landscapes.

He is currently affiliated with the Forest Research Institute at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where his research includes the localisation, optimisation, and evaluation of soil stabilisation and erosion-control technologies under Australian conditions. His broader research also encompasses forest operations, environmental impacts, and sustainable technologies in forestry.

His innovation in Nano-Hydromulch received a Bronze Medal at the 2024 International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, Switzerland, and the technology has been pursued through international patent protection. He is also a member of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and The New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS), reflecting his broader engagement with international innovation and scientific communities.
