Dr Jane Menzies completed her PhD at Monash University in 2005, on women’s participation in international assignments in Multinational Enterprises. Jane is a Senior Lecturer in International Business at the University of Sunshine Coast, and the MBA and Postgraduate Programs coordinator. At her previous institution, Deakin University she held roles including the Director for the Master of Commerce, Director for the Master of Business Administration (International), and more recently the Deputy Director for the Higher Degrees by Research. Jane is an excellent teacher, often scoring 100% that students are satisfied with her teaching. Jane has led study tours to India, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, the US and coordinated in an inbound program of MBA students from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Jane has held visiting scholar positions at Aarhus University, Denmark, Rollins College, US, Shanghai Jiaotong University, China and the University of Melbourne. Jane has taught at Monash and Victoria University.

Her research interests are in internationalisation of firms, transitional issues of international students, including into and out of University, women’s entrepreneurship, and gender issues in organisations. One of her latest research interests has been on Australian Indigenous Female Entrepreneurship, the subject of this book. Jane has published in Critical Perspectives on International Business, Journal of Business Research, International Business Review, European Management Journal, Thunderbird International Business Review, Academy of International Business Insights, International Journal of Consumer Studies, International Journal of Conflict Management, Management International Review, Human Resource Management Review, International Trade Journal, European Business Review, Australian Journal of Career Development, and a range of education journals. Jane published a book with Routledge in 2018 on ‘Innovation and Internationalisation: Australian SMEs in China. ’ Jane has over the years been awarded grants at the Australia China Council (2013), the Council for Australia Latin America Relations (2022) both at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Sunshine Coast Council in 2022-2024.
