About

Hannah Joyce Banks completed her PhD in Theatre in 2018 at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington. This ground-breaking research explored women in devised theatre in Aotearoa New Zealand. Her main research area is in devised and collaborative theatre exploring empathetic partnership and emotional agility. She has a particular interest in gender and cultural representation, feminist ethics of care, reclaiming lost voices and feminist dramaturgy. She also researches into healthy ageing and wellbeing for creative practitioners.
