Biography
Professor Fiona Bogossian is Deputy Dean, School of Health.
Fiona is Registered Nurse and Midwife with qualifications in education, public health and epidemiology who has over 3 decades of tertiary education experience. In 2018 Fiona commenced at UniSC as Professor of Practice Education in Health and, until 2022, was Academic Lead at the Sunshine Coast Health Institute (SCHI).
Research
Fiona has a sustained and strong track record in two areas of research concentration relating to perinatal health and health workforce education. Her research has wide impact from changing clinical and education practice to informing government policy. She has expertise in systematic and scoping reviews, cross sectional survey design, longitudinal cohort studies, randomised controlled trials, qualitative approaches, mixed methods and consumer co-design/led research.
She has published over 120 peer reviewed papers, 10 books/chapters and has made over 150 conference presentations including keynote and invited presentations. The impact of her publications is highlighted by a Field Weighted Citation Impact (2012-2021) of 2.66. Since 2008 she has been a named investigator on competitive grants totaling over $4 million including Cat 1, OLT and ALTC and Cat 4 grants.
