Biography:

Dr Danielle Cave is a Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics and Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Nutrition program in the School of Health at UniSC. She obtained her PhD in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Queensland in 2023. Danielle is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and has experience working in residential aged care. She was awarded the Dietitians Australia Fay McDonald Academic Scholarship in 2020, which supports further study and training in foodservice management.

Danielle is a member of Dietitians Australia and the Australian Association of Gerontology. Danielle is a board member for Meals on Wheels Moreton Bay Region and a general member of Dietitian Australia’s Food Service Interest Group. She was a conference organising committee member for the Australian Association of Gerontology Conference from 2023-25. She has reviewed papers for Nutrition & Dietetics, the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics and the Australasian Journal on Ageing.

Research:

Danielle Cave’s doctorate research used a complexity science lens to explore the long-term sustainability of food fortification strategies within the foodservice systems of aged care homes. She is interested in food and nutrition for older adults living in the community and in residential aged care, as well as foodservice management.
