Biography

Dr Ann Parkinson is a teaching focused academic in the School of Health, Biomedicine Discipline. She trained as physiologist studying erythrocyte metabolism in Australian native animals and stretch receptors in crustacean muscle.

Ann has extensive experience in the scholarship of learning and teaching and now focuses on education based research in biomedical science education and STEM more broadly. Her current research includes student’s perceptions and actions around academic integrity, especially in the area of generative artificial intelligence. Ann also researches effective teaching practices including visualisation, using Immersive 3D visualisation in the CAVE2TM environment and the use of lightboard technology in educational videos.
