About

Victoria is a nationally recognised educator, with recent awards including a 2024 Australian Award for University Teaching (AAUT) Citation and a Vice-Chancellor's Commendation for Excellence in Learning and Teaching. Her teaching focuses on inclusive, student-centred learning environments, large-scale curriculum design, and assessment innovation. She has a strong record of mentoring early career academics and casual staff, and contributes to School-wide student retention and engagement initiatives. Victoria is incredibly passionate about enabling learning in Biomedical Science by motivating and supporting students to reach their potential.

Victoria's research centres on cardiovascular physiology, with a focus on vascular changes in preterm infants, pregnancy, migraine, and stroke. She is currently undertaking her PhD at the University of Queensland’s Perinatal Research Centre, investigating capillary ultrastructure and fluid loss in preterm piglets. Her doctoral research is supported by NHMRC Ideas Grant funding and sits at the intersection of fundamental vascular biology and translational neonatal care.

She has presented nationally and internationally, received awards for scientific communication, and collaborates with researchers at the University of Queensland, The Florey Institute, and Aarhus University Hospital (Denmark). Her recent work includes a high-impact publication in Acta Physiologica.
