About
I am a social worker and academic with over two decades of interdisciplinary research experience across academic, not-for-profit and government sectors. My work has centred on regional and rural communities, with a strong focus on improving access to meaningful, community-based programs and services, including mental health support.
My current research focuses on promoting healthy ageing and supporting older adults to live meaningful lives in the community. I explore ways to enhance dementia care, particularly through non-pharmacological interventions with a special interest in expanding access to Cognitive Stimulation Therapy in community settings. I am also committed to strengthening the future aged-care workforce by exploring why social work students don't pursue career paths working with older adults and identifying strategies to encourage and support their interest in this field.
