My research focusses on ecological modelling for historically overexploited sawfishes. As filling data gaps for range-restricted species across the entire state of Queensland is labour, time, and monetarily costly, I emphasised the value in alternative sources to field work, including citizen science, historical archives, specimen morphometrics, and trace element data. Building and maintaining relationships was essential throughout this process, and my research involved collaborations with Queensland Fisheries, recreational fishing groups, Indigenous Land and Sea Rangers, and more than 50 museums and historical societies.
I currently assist various research teams with modelling, machine learning and database management.
