About
Matthew Morrison is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Human Factors and Systems Science (CHFSS) at the University of the Sunshine Coast. His current research contributes to the Understanding and Preventing Led Outdoor Accidents Data System (UPLOADS) Linkage project.
Matthew’s broader research interests focus on the application of systems science methods to sport, sleep, and human performance. He is particularly interested in how systems thinking approaches can be used to better understand performance, health, and behaviour in sport and physical activity settings, and welcomes opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration in these areas.
Matthew completed his PhD at Australian Catholic University in 2024, examining the interplay between sleep, exercise, and nutrition. He has also taught undergraduate motor control at the University of the Sunshine Coast and previously taught exercise and sport science and postgraduate high performance sport courses at ACU.
