About

Krist is a PhD candidate at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Krist’s research aims to facilitate the integration of high-risk patients into established cardiovascular rehabilitation programs. His primary project will investigate the efficacy of cardiovascular rehabilitation for people who have undergone lower limb revascularisation for peripheral arterial disease.

Krist's ambition as a researcher is to increase the access to cardiovascular rehabilitation programs for high-risk patients, who are not usually referred to such programs. He believes that cardiovascular rehabilitation programs are cost-effective and play a crucial role in the management of cardiovascular conditions, and the prevention of secondary cardiovascular events. His long-term goal is to optimise clinical practice in the management and treatment of high-risk patient groups.
