About

Katie McIntyre is a Course Coordinator and Lecturer in the School of Business and Creative Industries at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where she teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate management, leadership, entrepreneurship and human resource management courses. She currently coordinates the postgraduate course Leading and Managing Organisations and contributes to executive education and industry-engaged learning initiatives.

Katie is an experienced researcher with expertise in leadership, organisational behaviour and mixed methods research. Her research focuses on leadership and emotions, particularly joyful leadership, employee wellbeing, engagement and resilience. She is also involved in research projects relating to entrepreneurship, food sustainability, social impact and Pacific-focused development.

Prior to academia, Katie held senior leadership roles across the education and nonprofit sectors, including principal, principal advisor and chief operating officer positions. This extensive leadership experience informs both her teaching and research, enabling her to connect contemporary theory with practical leadership challenges.

Katie completed her PhD in Leadership at the University of the Sunshine Coast and has published in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and industry reports. She regularly presents at academic and industry conferences and collaborates with university, government and industry partners on applied research and leadership development initiatives.
