About
Dr Georgina Clutterbuck is a physiotherapist and researcher whose work focuses on supporting children with disabilities to participate in enjoyable, lifelong sport and physical activity. Her research advances participation-based approaches to disability by investigating practical, evidence-based interventions that help children transition from health-based services into sustained participation in community sport and recreation.
Georgina developed the Sports Stars program and the SPORTS Participation Framework, innovative approaches that support children with disabilities, their families, and practitioners to achieve meaningful participation outcomes. Her research has demonstrated the effectiveness of practitioner-led, peer-group sports interventions for children with cerebral palsy and is now exploring how these approaches can be adapted across different disability groups, cultures, and service settings.
Drawing on experience across clinical practice, research, teaching, and community engagement, Georgina collaborates with researchers, clinicians, and people with lived experience of childhood-onset disability and their families across Australia and internationally, including partnerships in Brazil, Canada, and Scandinavia.
