Dr Eric Miller is a rural generalist, urgent care physician and health-systems researcher whose career spans frontline clinical medicine, integrative medicine, digital health and health economics across Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. He holds an MBBS from the University of Notre Dame Australia and an MSc in Health Economics, Policy and Management from the London School of Economics, with Fellowship of the RACGP including Rural Generalist Fellowship in Emergency Medicine, the ACEM Emergency Medicine Certificate, and Fellowship of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health. As Associate Professor in the School of Health, his work centres on urgent care, rural generalism and digitally enabled models of care. He is Lead Doctor of the Buderim Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (Ochre Health), supervises UniSC paramedicine students on clinical placement, and serves as Co-Deputy Chair of the RACGP Integrative Medicine Specific Interests Group, championing evidence-informed, whole-person approaches to chronic disease in mainstream general practice. As Clinical Director of the Central Queensland COVID Virtual Hospital he led a remote monitoring service that safely managed more than 2,400 patients at home, recognised with the CQHHS 2022 Clinical Excellence Award. A MedTech co-founder and named co-inventor on multiple granted international patents, he brings commercialisation and technology-transfer experience to the academic setting. His current research examines ambient AI clinical documentation in regional and rural practice, accepted for presentation at the AIDH AI.Care 2026 national conference, alongside urgent care models and transferable rural and remote models of care.
