About
Biography
Dr. Goodlich is a Lecturer in Physiotherapy with expertise in neurophysiology, neural control of movement, physiotherapy, and exercise science. His research specialises in high-density electromyography, motor unit decomposition, and peripheral nerve stimulation. He completed his PhD at Griffith University, where he investigated serotonergic neuromodulation of motor unit activity. Whilst at Griffith University, he contributed to research on neuromotor characteristics of people with multiple sclerosis, neuromotor characteristics of sarcopenia, and physical activity in children with cerebral palsy. His work has led to multiple peer-reviewed publications, and he has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Applied Physiology. His research is supported by competitive funding, including a 2024 MS Australia Project Grant to investigate spinal cord motor pathways in multiple sclerosis.
Dr. Goodlich actively collaborates with researchers from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, University of Queensland, University of Sydney, and Griffith University. He has received several academic awards, including Best Oral Presentation Award - ISEK Congress XXV (2024), Best Poster Presentation - Third International Motor Impairment Conference (2023), and Outstanding Thesis Award - Griffith University (2024). He is an active member of the International Society of Electrophysiology and Kinesiology (ISEK), the International Motoneuron Society, and the Australian Physiotherapy Association. He also serves as a member of the ISEK Early Career Researcher Committee.
