Biography

Dr Anita Hamilton worked as an occupational therapist in mental health and work rehabilitation prior to becoming an occupational therapy educator and researcher in 2003. Since then, she has become an award-winning educator with over twenty years of experience shaping occupational therapy education in Australia and Canada. Anita is a dedicated lifelong learner who loves to collaborate with industry partners to develop and refine evidence-based curricula to prepare students for the evolving healthcare context. Anita enjoys mentoring colleagues and students to build a culture where individual and collective growth and accomplishments are celebrated. Anita has been recognised nationally and internationally as an innovative educator and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).

Research

Anita has developed three research portfolios incorporating discovery, integration, and application. These portfolios are 1) Mental Health & Well-being, 2) Graduate Employability, and 3) Advancing the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. These portfolios connect the academic pillars of learning & teaching, research, and engagement.
