Biography
Angela is a Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics - Clinical Education in the School of Health. As an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with Dietitians Australia, she brings 20 years' experience in clinical dietetic, public health nutrition and clinical education.
A teaching focused academic, Angela provides leadership in the coordination of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) across the Bachelor of Dietetics (Honours), Masters of Dietetics (Sports Nutrition) and Bachelor of Nutrition Programs. She holds a graduate certificate in higher education and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
Angela is committed to enhancing student learning and work readiness through providing meaningful real-world WIL placements, service learning, volunteering and community building activities. Angela is the Program Coordinator for the Undergraduate Nutrition Program and coordinates a number of WIL courses within the Nutrition and Dietetic Programs.
With extensive experience in establishing innovative and impactful placement partnerships in local, rural and remote locations Angela enhances student learning and supports workforce growth in underserviced locations.
Angela's research focuses on the scholarship of learning and teaching including Work Integrated Learning, Professional identity and graduate employability. Angela also has a keen interest creating supportive environments for healthy eating. Angela is a founding member and co-lead of the School of Health, Health Professions Education Research Cluster and provides Nutrition Education Research leadership within the Nutrition and Dietetic Discipline.
