Biography

Dr Mandie Miller is an Associate Lecturer in the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) / Bachelor of Recreation and Outdoor Environmental Studies, and the Bachelor of Recreation and Outdoor Environmental Studies. Mandie has over two decades’ experience as a science, geography and outdoor educator in Queensland and Victorian schools. From 2010 - 2019, she lectured and tutored in the Schools of Science and Social Science at USC. Mandie’s PhD examined the effects of tourism on marginalised children in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Research interests include the effect of tourism and experiential tourism on local communities and in effecting change towards sustainable practices.
