About

Dr Ajith is a Researcher with extensive experience in Genetics and Genomics. His research focuses on the application of molecular and genomic tools to address practical challenges in conservation, fisheries management and aquaculture production. His work includes,

  1. Population genetics
  2. SNP-based analyses
  3. Genome-wide trait associations
  4. Parentage assignment
  5. Stock structure assessment.

His research spans across a range of marine and aquaculture species, including fishes, oysters, prawns, and crabs and terrestrial species, such as koala.

Currently, Dr Ajith supports the Centre for Bioinnovation (CBI) with bioinformatics and genomic data analyses for oyster breeding.
