Abstract
This paper describes the activities of the Sunshine Coast Sub Tropical Fruits Association (SCSTFA) Information Technology (IT) Group, a group of growers who came together to enable themselves and their business with IT. Some major issues of adoption are discussed, drawing upon the experiences of the group in assessing and implementing IT applications. In particular, the barriers to IT adoption are carefully examined as are the potential rewards in applying IT to a grower business. Finally a checklist is presented that will assist growers assess the potential for adopting IT in their own businesses.
