Abstract
This Honours research project explored the traditional diet and foodways of the Kabi Kabi Peoples of South-East Queensland. Prior to colonisation, Aboriginal Australians maintained diverse lifestyles and deep connections to Country, supported by complex food systems and ecological knowledge. Colonisation disrupted these systems and continues to contribute to health inequities. Research suggests that traditional diets can improve health and wellbeing while strengthening cultural identity, however, focused syntheses on specific First Nations communities are limited.
