Abstract
Early intervention is a core characteristic of public health, and no less so in public health palliative care. Early intervention anticipates the complex and wide-ranging experiences of people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as those of their families, carers, and communities, as they navigate the known impacts of ageing, dying, death, bereavement, and caregiving. In this chapter, approaches to early interventions are explored at the caregiver, community, civic society, and service provider levels. Further, it considers how a partnership development method can contribute to the collaborative and participatory approaches central to public health palliative care.
