Abstract
This report is the culmination of a 12-month research project undertaken for a CPA Australia Global Research Perspectives Program grant by researchers from the Asia-Pacific Centre or Franchising Excellence at Griffith University and the University of New South Wales, Australia. The research investigated the effectiveness of undertaking due diligence prior to starting or purchasing an independent small business or franchise.
