Abstract

Higher Education Student Representation Student Voice Curriculum Co-design Student Engagement Shared Decision-Making Students as Partners (SaP)
In 2025, the UniSC Student Senate introduced the concept of ‘Student Voice Activations’ as a productive dialogue between students and educators, moving beyond traditional survey methods to engage students as active partners in the co-design of their learning experiences. This initiative aligns with emerging trends in higher education that emphasize student agency and participatory approaches in curriculum development (Bovill et al., 2016; Healey et al., 2014). As outlined in the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, elevating student voice in decision-making processes at UniSC is essential for fostering a collaborative educational environment recognizing students as partners who are engaged and ready for the future of work. This event was championed by the UniSC Student Senate and supported by the leadership of the Students as Partners Team.
