My-AHA: D7.2 Report about the evaluation program
MY-AHA Consortium
2017
Abstract
The main aim of "my-AHA" project is to reduce frailty risk by improving physical activity, cognitive function, psychological state, social resources, nutrition, sleep and overall well-being. In order to do so, an ICT-based platform will detect risks in the frailty domain early and accurately. The portability, the usability, the sensitivity and specificity of the sensory-base platform will be evaluated first in a limited group of complain and motivated subjects (Phase one - alpha wave) and then in a larger group (Phase two - randomized controlled study) of pre-frail subjects divided in three age cohorts. Pre-frail subjects will be collected in ten centers, located in different countries (Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain, UK, Sweden, Belgium, Japan, South Korea and Australia). The purpose of this delivery is to define the criteria in order to evaluate the characteristics of the platform in order to collect reliable information regarding the complex characteristics of the frailty syndrome. In details, portability, usability, sensitivity and specificity of different devices and different strategies in evaluating the risk of developing frailty in pre-frail subjects will be evaluated. In addition, a template of the protocol, to be used both in Phase one and Phase two, will be defined. Problems related to devices and strategies emerging from the alpha wave will be analyzed and suggestions for the RCT phase will be discussed.
