Mathematics Teacher Education Australian Government Schools Diversity
The Inspiring Mathematics and Science in Teacher Education (IMSITE) project was one of a suite of projects funded by the Australian Government Office for Learning and Teaching
(OLT1) that constituted the Enhancing the Training of Mathematics and Science Teachers (ETMST) Program. The purpose of the ETMST Program was to drive:
a major improvement in the quality of mathematics and science teachers by supporting new preservice programs in which faculties, schools or departments of science, mathematics and
education collaborate on course design and delivery, combining content and pedagogy so that mathematics and science are taught as dynamic, forward-looking, and collaborative human
endeavours. (DET, 2016)
