Frame and Truss Unused Resources Survey
Forest & Wood Products Australia
2024
Abstract
This report is an output from the Timber Circularity Project led by the National Centre for Timber Durability and Design Life (NCTDDL) at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC). The overall goal of the project is to identify viable pathways to divert end-of-life preservative treated timber and engineered wood products from landfill, which is a critical step towards integrating this material into a circular economy as a resource. Australia announced its commitment to achieving a circular economy by 2030 with a focus on increasing reuse and recycling of end-of-life timber, including preservative treated timber and engineered wood products.
The project is a three-year industry-funded initiative that commenced in 2023. Essential to the project’s success is the collaboration with a diverse group of industry stakeholders including associations and organisations dedicated to advancing the sector.
