The Launch22 funding scheme was successful in the fulfilling of the outcomes that were expressed within the project proposal (see below). The funding provided a unique opportunity for multi-discipline collaboration between earth scientists, ecologists, geomorphologists, soil scientists, limnologists, microbiologists and geophysicists as well as supported seven (7) student projects at UniSC. The collaboration was broad and included multiple academics for SSTE at the University of the Sunshine Coast but also academics from University of Adelaide, Clarkson University (USA), University of Queensland and DES. This collaboration has the potential to provide significant insights into the evolution of peatlands on K’gari and vital information on their successful management during climate change.
