Abstract
The organisers of the Burton NZ Open 2008 commissioned this report. The aim of the report is to identify the economic impact of the Burton Open on the local economy; in other words, to quantify the economic activity that would not take place if the event were not held. The event attracts competitors, officials and spectators from outside the area who spend money in the local economy. This increased spending generates increased local incomes.
