Report
Assessment of coastal dunes and coastal hazards along Mermaid Beach and Miami Beach, Gold Coast
University of the Sunshine Coast
2022
Abstract
Beach and dune systems requires an adequate volume of sand and a minimum beach width to efficiently provide a first line of defense against flooding and erosion.
The intensity and frequency of storms, including tropical cyclones, are expected to intensify in many parts of the world due to human-induced climate change globally.
This report presents an assessment of the potential risks from coastal processes and management interventions at the beach/dune system along Miami, Nobby and Mermaid beaches, Gold Coast, Australia.
