Abstract

Urban and Regional Planning transport corridors sustainable transport
The purpose of this research is to develop a leading practice framework to assist all stakeholders and decision-makers in understanding the planning and policy provisions for the development of sustainable urban transport corridors. The significance of the research is the consideration afforded to the interdependency of the range of conflict and compatibility issues associated with leading practice transport corridors. The components and requirements of transport corridors will be explored in relation to their ability to act as mixed use and public transport corridors. This research will: * Identify and define the key issues required to support a sustainable transport corridor; *Identify and examine leading practice knowledge and case study examples; * Create a framework to assist stakeholders in developing a multifaceted approach to achieve high sustainable modal share; This document represents Stages 1 - 3 of the research process. Stage 4 is the intended application of the framework to a particular project, plan or development. Examples of this specific context based analysis are not detailed within this report.
