Abstract
According to Ryerson University v Ryerson Faculty Association [2018] CanLII 58446 (ON LA), a Canadian arbitration case, the gold standard for measuring teaching quality is peer review of teaching and a teaching portfolio. After reflecting on this useful benchmark and the successful implementation of the first two rounds of the prestigious national awards scheme, the ALEAs, LEAD is creating a national, inter-institutional, peer review of teaching pilot in law as a professional development opportunity to generate evidence to support academic employment, confirmation, promotion, learning and teaching grant applications, university awards and an ALEA nomination. This presentation will illuminate the next steps for the peer review of teaching pilot and tips for the next round of the ALEAs.
