Abstract
Mark is currently the Coordinator of the Nambour Community Centre whilst Tina previously worked in this role. They begin by discussing the value and benefit of Community Centres and their role in the community. Both Mark and Tina provide a story to illustrate the work of the Nambour Community Centre. Mark's story relates to music classes provided by a volunteer and the impact attending these classes had on a local man. Tina's story is about a training program the Centre provided to local indigenous women and the impact this had on the women and the community centre. Both Tina and Mark then reflect on what is involved in undertaking the role of a Community Centre Co-ordinator and some of the satisfactions, challenges and learning involved.
