Abstract
My Country Two encompasses two linked exhibitions of outstanding works by Aboriginal artists, drawn from the collections of Noosa residents. This dazzling display provides an opportunity to see major works which have rarely, if ever, been on public view. It contains paintings, barks and poles by both renowned and emerging Indigenous practitioners including Emily Kngwarreye, Tommy Watson, Mabel Juli, Sally Gabori, Netta Loogatha, Rammey Ramsey, Djirrirra Wunungmurra and Patrick Mung Mung. With vibrant colour and bold design, these diverse and striking works reflect aspects of each artist’s country, ceremonies and culture. The exhibition is curated by Dr Lisa Chandler, lecturer in Art and Design at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
