Abstract
The USC “Bussamarai Model”is a Model written by Stuart, to support academics to embed Indigenous knowledges, perspectives, experiences and Cultural Safety into higher education curriculum. A strength based curriculum has the potential to build a culturally safe workforce that will contribute to Reconciliation and ‘Closing the Gap’. The “Bussamarai Model” consists of the 5 following Steps. Step 1. Guidance for Academics, Step 2. Cultural Considerations relating to Curriculum, Step 3. Implementing Indigenous Pedagogies, Step 4. The Toolkit (written resources, course mapping template and keeping places), Step 5. Reflections, Rinse and Repeat (This is a work in progress – to continually updating content). Stuart continues to refine this work.
