Abstract

The UniSC “CAPTURE and KEEP”, Indigenous Nursing and Midwifery Student Support Model, is a Clinical Liaison Support Program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nursing and Midwifery students. This program has extended from grassroots orientation, retention and graduation support, to establishing partnerships with Queensland Health, through their cultural support program. Our UniSC Clinical Liaison student support officer, has successfully guided (83) UniSC graduates into Indigenous Identified nursing and midwifery positions. From 2013 – 2023, a total of 83 (Nursing = 80) and (Midwifery = 3) have graduated from UniSC’s nursing and midwifery programs. In 2025, this work continues to yield successful outcomes at UniSC.
