El trilema de la urna: anatomía del voto de derecha en la Colombia de 2026 [The "trilemma of the ballot box": anatomy of the right-wing vote in Colombia in 2026]

Abstract
There is an old anti-fascist aphorism, born in the partisan Italy of the 40s, which sustains a mathematical incompatibility: intelligence, honesty and fascism cannot coexist in the same person. Who supports a fascist project, said the syllogism, can only do so by being rich (and therefore so much interested), being evil (and therefore indifferent to suffering or being ignorant (and therefore unable to see what it supports). The Three conditions are mutually exclusive, but at least one must be met.
Colombia has just gone through, this Sunday, June 21, a second presidential return that invites us to put that old trilemma to the test, not to accept it without further ado. It should be said at the outset: the trilemma does not explain the the entire electorate that supported the radical right-wing candidate, Abelardo de la Espriella, and this article does not intend to locate each of those almost thirteen million voters in one of its three polling stations. What it does have, such as It will be seen, it is a real analytical validity to understand a substantial part of that electorate, as long as it is used with care not to turn a A tool for understanding a collective judgment.
