Australian Nursing & Midwifery Journal, Vol.26(4), pp.24-25
2018
Abstract
The article reports on the requirement for nurses in Australia to undertake continuing professional education (CPE) to maintain registration. Barriers to accessing CPE are mentioned. There is said to be an emerging role for universities in the country in the provision of CPE for nurses. The three broad categories of CPE offered by a number of Australian Schools of Nursing for nurses are overseas experience-based education, general/allied health courses, and area-specific short courses.
