Australian Journal of Adult Learning, Vol.42(1), pp.57-74
2002
Abstract
Sweden has one of the best developed and resourced systems of adult education in the world. This paper traces the social and historical factors that have built a four-century strong adult education tradition in Sweden with a very positive view towards lifelong education and an enviable infrastructure of schools and associations devoted to adult education. The paper makes some references to comparable forces in Australia's history of adult education.
