Sister-city relations have been in existence for decades, though little has been written about how they manifest outside of economic trade and investment opportunities. Towards greater sociocultural exchanges and potential in terms of economic and sociocultural gains are conceptualised. This pracademic viewpoint proposes two frameworks to address the risks, and how to approach new sister-city partnerships in the future.
