Abstract
The Internet influences and modifies many aspects of our daily life. It has a similar influence on physical and mental health. The growing popularity of websites such as Facebook allows social sites to become platforms for patients as well as health professionals to use. An illustration of this phenomenon is presented by taking the example of trauma and thinking about today’s and tomorrow’s practices: How is the quality of the information on post traumatic stress published on the Internet and specifically on social websites? What does one think about the growth of discussion groups regarding mental health
disorders? What should the mental health professional take into account while using social sites? How can these websites be used following a major catastrophe and finally, will the practice of psychiatry evolve with this social media?
