Abstract

coordinating ligands high quantum efficiency iridium complex natural products phosphorescent emitters
The natural product cinchonine is readily converted into novel cyclometalating and coordinating ligands that can be used to prepare phosphorescent Ir(III) complexes. These phosphorescent emitters are very soluble in organic solvents and exhibit relatively high quantum efficiencies. © 2011 American Chemical Society.
