Through the examination and production of performance drawing, I have become aware of a gap in the research and knowledge associated with this ﬁeld. This absence of information makes it diﬃcult to analytically navigate and locate my work in the ﬁeld. In positing elements for the development of a performance drawing framework to enable criticality and discussion, this paper proposes that performance drawing can be understood in terms of the witness.
