Nitrogen-rich azoles as ligand spacers in coordination polymers
Chemistry - An Asian Journal, Vol.6(2), pp.292-304
2011
Abstract
N-heterocycle-based ligands are versatile building-blocks for coordination oligomer and polymer assemblies of first-row transition metals. Herein, we review recent developments in the design and synthesis of some nitrogen-rich azole-based ligands, their assembly modes in coordination oligomers and polymers, and the potential applications of the resulting metallosupramolecules. Spacer Oddity: Hybrid azoles support a myriad of coordination polymers by serving as flexible and adaptable spacers through a range of coordination modes. Copyright © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
