Abstract
The examination of video games and genres using a cultural legal studies frame is an emergent field (Mitchell et al). Specific games, such as 'Infamous', have been analysed for the prioritisation of natural law over legal positivism; similarly, the genre of the hyperrealist first-person shooters are positioned as a way to legitimise and witness otherwise forbidden acts within the combat zone (Barnett and Sharp; Mantello). More broadly, the medium has been used to interrogate how video games May ease users into a paradigm of input and datafication in relation to rigid rules signalling a turn to digital legality (Pearson and Tranter).
