Abstract
While the term growth is frequently used in educational dialogue about student learning, curriculum design, and teacher effectiveness, interpretations of growth-including applications, factors, and context-warrant closer inspection to reveal potential oversights that May not always support mathematics learning as intended. This article raises critical considerations frequently overlooked in the growth testing culture in mathematics education, particularly those related to pre- and post- testing. Each section engages with common sentiments in educational dialogue, encouraging deeper reflection on how growth is understood and identified.
