Abstract
Australia is widely recognized as one of the leading countries in the world, in line with the green tourism development that has close links with the wildlife tourism and marine tourism. This paper discusses the overview of the green tourism with its definition, followed by development of Australia in the wildlife tourism and marine tourism with substantial cases in the industry. It also investigates the government policy of Australia toward its role in establishing the necessary guidelines for which nature-based tourism can be developed in accordance with the principles of sustainability. The paper concludes with suggesting useful recommendations for the sustainable and successful development of green tourism that can be applied to overseas countries including Korea.
