Abstract
This visual essay questions what it is to know a place. Through the methods of walking, observing the senses and drawing, this visual essay considers the space between the known and unknown. Situated within a walk through a wet-heath habitat in Australia, I unpack the meaning of knowing place and the senses experienced. During the walk, a mental image of the place is formed, then sketched upon completion. This sketch highlights what elements are known and unknown during the interaction. My engagement with this walk leads to the question, do we know place?
